This is the FINAL of THREE classes in this summer series for 2026. \n\n\n\nTarget Age Range: Ages 4 – 10 years\, An adult must accompany their child participants. \n\n\n\nLed by Jonathan Shaw\, McDowell Elementary Teacher\, Dr. Anne Farley Schoeffler\, Seton School and local educators \n\n\n\nSession #3 – Insects & Spiders – Sat.\, August 1 – REGISTRATION OPENS JULY 10 \n\n\n\nProgram Information  \n\n\n\nSession Overview – Insects & Spiders at Hudson Springs Park\, Galloway Pavilion \n\n\n\nDate: August 1\, 2026Location: Hudson Springs Park\, Galloway PavilionTime: 10:00 – 11:30 AM \n\n\n\nIn this session\, we’ll dive into the magical world of insects and spiders!  They are arthropods just like shrimp\, crabs\, and lobsters.  We will learn about the main body parts of insects and spiders\, what they eat\, and where they can be found.  Through games\, crafts\, storytelling\, and science\, kids will explore how tiny animals keep our world going —and why they need our protection. \n\n\n\nCost: FREE\, but registration is required – REGISTRATION OPENS JULY 10 \n\n\n\nMeet by the restrooms in Hudson Springs Parking Lot. We will walk as a group to the Galloway Pavilion.

DESCRIPTION:Pack the Pond – Monday\, 8/3 \n\n\n\nPack the Pond is back this year\, Monday\, August 3\, 2026 from 5pm to 8pm at Hudson Springs Park. \n\n\n\nJoin the hundreds of families that attend Pack the Pond! Activities include free kayak\, canoe and paddleboard opportunities courtesy of Kent State University Department of Recreation and Wellness Services Adventure Center.  Because of strong demand\, we do ask that people interested in these free activities please pre-register directly with KSU RecWell using the following links: \n\n\n\n\nCanoes: HERE\n\n\n\nSingle Kayaks: HERE\n\n\n\nTandem Kayaks: HERE\n\n\n\nStand Up Paddleboards: HERE\n\n\n\n\nWe’ll also have information on geocaching by local experts “The Muddy Dawgs” and free hot dogs. \n\n\n\nWe are featuring the 14th annual Pack the Pond & Kayak Raffle; prizes are donated by our many outstanding and supportive Hudson merchants. Grand prize is a Quest Outlands 100 Kayak with Quest Chute Aluminum Kayak Paddle AND an Onyx Adult MoveVent Dynamic Nylon Life Vest.
