There are THREE classes in this summer series for 2026. \n\n\n\nTarget Age Range: Ages 4 – 10 years\, An adult must accompany their child participants. \n\n\n\nClass Size: 30 children per class – registration required \n\n\n\nLed by Jonathan Shaw\, McDowell Elementary Teacher\, Dr. Anne Farley Schoeffler\, Seton School and local educators \n\n\n\nSession #1: Biomimicry – Sat.\, June 6 – REGISTRATION CLOSED – Class is Full \n\n\n\nDate: June 6\, 2026Location: Veterans Way Park PavilionTime: 10:00 AM – 11:30 AM \n\n\n\nIn this session\, we will explore biomimicry.  Have you ever wondered where the idea for Velcro came from or why a bullet train is shaped the way it is?  When humans are inspired by nature to solve problems\, that is biomimicry!  We’ll investigate color\, flight\, feet\, and wind. \n\n\n\nClosed – CLASS IS FULL \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nSession #2 – Birds – Sat.\, July 11 – REGISTER HERE \n\n\n\nDate: July 11\, 2026Location: Cascade Park\, Holden PavilionTime: 10:00 – 11:30 AM \n\n\n\nDiscover the amazing adaptations that help birds survive! Through hands-on activities and outdoor exploration\, participants will investigate how beaks\, wings\, feet\, and feathers help birds find food\, fly\, stay safe\, and thrive in their habitats. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nSession #3 – Insects & Spiders – Sat.\, August 1 – REGISTRATION OPENS JULY 10 \n\n\n\nDate: August 1\, 2026Location: Hudson Springs Park\, Galloway PavilionTime: 10:00 – 11:30 AM \n\n\n\nIn this session\, we’ll dive into the magical world of insects and spiders!  They are arthropods just like shrimp\, crabs\, and lobsters.  We will learn about the main body parts of insects and spiders\, what they eat\, and where they can be found.  Through games\, crafts\, storytelling\, and science\, kids will explore how tiny animals keep our world going —and why they need our protection.
