DESCRIPTION:Hudson Springs Park\, 7095 Stow Road \n\n\n\nPlease meet in front of the restrooms by the parking lot\, Saturday\, May 9th at 9 am. \n\n\n\nWe will start at 9 am and finish when everything is planted\, but no later than 3 p.m.  \n\n\n\nFriends of Hudson Parks (FOHP) Members and Volunteers will be adding native perennials to the Janet Cheeseman Garden at Hudson Springs Park. \n\n\n\nPlease dress for the weather\, wear closed toe shoes and bring water\, gardening gloves\, large shovel and trowel. Volunteers are encouraged to bring water – a lunch will be provided. \n\n\n\nThe Janet Cheeseman Garden was installed originally by the Hudson Park Board to honor a woman who had been a strong parks advocate and a member of the Hudson Park Board. Janet was a long time gardener and member of the Hudson Garden Club. \n\n\n\nFOHP has been working to restore the Janet Cheeseman Memorial Garden for the last four years. Activities include free kayak\, canoe and paddleboard opportunities courtesy of Kent State University Department of Recreation and Wellness Services Adventure Center.  Because of strong demand\, we do ask that people interested in these free activities please pre-register directly with KSU RecWell using the following links: \n\n\n\n\nCanoes: HERE\n\n\n\nSingle Kayaks: HERE\n\n\n\nTandem Kayaks: HERE\n\n\n\nStand Up Paddleboards: HERE\n\n\n\n\nWe’ll also have information on geocaching by local experts “The Muddy Dawgs” and free hot dogs. \n\n\n\nWe are featuring the 14th annual Pack the Pond & Kayak Raffle; prizes are donated by our many outstanding and supportive Hudson merchants. Grand prize is a Quest Outlands 100 Kayak with Quest Chute Aluminum Kayak Paddle AND an Onyx Adult MoveVent Dynamic Nylon Life Vest.
