DESCRIPTION:Pack the Pond – Monday\, 8/4 \n\n\n\nPack the Pond is back this year\, Monday\, August 4 from 5pm to 8pm at Hudson Springs Park. \n\n\n\nJoin the hundreds of families that attend Pack the Pond! Activities include free kayak\, canoe and paddleboard opportunities courtesy of Kent State University Department of Recreation and Wellness Services Adventure Center.  Because of strong demand\, we do ask that people interested in these free activities please pre-register directly with KSU RecWell using the following links: \n\n\n\n\nCanoes: HERE\n\n\n\nSingle Kayaks: HERE\n\n\n\nTandem Kayaks: HERE\n\n\n\nStand Up Paddleboards: HERE\n\n\n\n\nWe’ll also have information on geocaching by local experts “The Muddy Dawgs” and free hot dogs. \n\n\n\nWe are featuring the 13th annual Pack the Pond & Kayak Raffle; prizes are donated by our many outstanding and supportive Hudson merchants. Grand prize is a Quest Endeavor 100 Kayak with Quest Chute Aluminum Kayak Paddle AND an Onyx Adult MoveVent Dynamic Nylon Life Vest. DESCRIPTION:Part of a NEW FRIENDS OF HUDSON PARKS – 2025 SUMMER OUTDOOR EDUCATION SERIES called Wild Hudson: Summer Explorations in Nature \n\n\n\nREGISTRATION CLOSED – ALL CLASSES ARE FULL as of 6/19/2025 – if there are any cancellations\, we will reopen registration 48 hours before the start of a class – please check back \n\n\n\n \n\n\n\nWild Hudson: Summer Explorations in Nature \n\n\n\nWild Hudson is a hands-on\, science-focused program designed to get kids outside\, exploring\, & connecting with the natural world right in their own backyard. There are five classes in this summer series. SUMMARY:Creature Features Series for Kids: Under the Water
DESCRIPTION:May Pavilion\, Hudson Springs Park\, 7095 Stow Road\, Hudson\, OH \n\n\n\n \n\n\n\nCome explore the creatures that live in lakes and streams! \n\n\n\nChildren will use nets and scoops to take samples from the nearby water and look for bugs\, snails and other creatures and learn what makes these animals special. \n\n\n\nDress for a mess as this is a hands-on program. Waterproof boots would be helpful! \n\n\n\nGeared towards children ages 4-10\, but families of all ages are welcome. An adult must accompany all child participants. SUMMARY:Kayak Class
DESCRIPTION:Hudson Springs Park\, 7095 Stow Road\, Hudson \n\n\n\nKayak and Stand-Up Paddleboard Class Registration is Now Open! \n\n\n\nEntry level paddleboard and kayak classes will be offered on four Saturdays in June & July\, 2025\, from 9 a.m. until 12 noon at Hudson Springs Park.  Experienced boarders and kayakers will also benefit. Safety training\, instruction and equipment will be provided by Kent State University RecWell Adventure Center.  Four separate classes and times are: \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nSat.\, 6/7: 9 a.m. – 12 p.m. – Kayaking lesson \n\n\n\nSat.\, 7/12: 9 a.m. – 12 p.m. – Kayaking lesson      \n\n\n\nSat.\, 7/19: 9 a.m. – 12 p.m. – Stand Up paddleboarding lesson \n\n\n\nParticipants must be age 8 or older. \n\n\n\nCost is $40 / person (plus taxes and fees).  \n\n\n\nFriends of Hudson Parks (FOHP) members receive a 25% discount. \n\n\n\nFor Individual members\, discount applies just to the member. \n\n\n\nFor Family or Benefactor level members\, the 25% discount applies to members and their immediate family (age 8 and older). \n\n\n\nYou will need to set up a KSU RecWell Adventure Center account and sign a waiver to register for a class. \n\n\n\nTo register for a class and set up an account\, click HERE.\n\n\n\nPlease note: June 7th & July 12th are KAYAKING only; July 19th is STAND UP PADDLEBOARDING only! \n\n\n\nIf you are a 2025 Friends of Hudson Parks member\, be sure to enter the promo code that was sent to you by email.
