Janet Cheeseman Garden Installation

May 18 @ 10:00 am 3:00 pm

Hudson Springs Park, 7095 Stow Road

Please meet in front of the restrooms by the parking lot!

We will start at 10 a.m. and finish when everything is planted, but no later than 3 p.m.

Friends of Hudson Parks (FOHP) Members and Volunteers from Wild Ones Greater Cleveland (WOGC) will be adding native flowering forbs and grasses to the Janet Cheeseman Garden at Hudson Springs Park.

Please dress for the weather, wear closed toe shoes and bring garden gloves and shovels. Volunteers are encouraged to bring water and a bag lunch or snack as we will be working through lunch.

The Janet Cheeseman Garden was installed originally by the Hudson Park Board to honor a woman who had been a strong parks advocate and a member of the Hudson Park Board. She was a long time gardener and member of the Hudson Garden Club.

FOHP has been working to restore the Janet Cheeseman Memorial Garden for the last 3 years. The new 2025 project, funded by a grant from the Hudson Garden Club will continue the planting of native flowering forbs as well as native grasses to create a natural edge of forest pocket meadow that will support native species of insects, birds and other wildlife. Paradise Natives has been hired to supply all plants for the project and will donate volunteer labor.
